“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly, defend the rights of the poor and needy.”
Proverbs 31:8-9
What is Courageous Advocacy?
It is championing a cause which is special or meaningful.
It enables our school community to develop a greater awareness of the challenges the world and it’s people face and how, both collectively and as individuals, we make change happen. We learn that we can support causes in our school community, local community and further afield, and by letting our light shine, we can show our unique talents.
Through practising our school’s Christian Ethos and Vision, we support a number of local and national charities. Our school community regularly organise fundraising events, covering a wide range of causes from the local food bank to national events such as Red Nose Day and McMillan Cancer. We celebrate our pupil’s individual achievements outside of school and are proud of how they show their compassion and kindness in their daily lives.
St Peter’s uses its collective power to raise awareness of the threats to the globe and that we all share responsibility for protecting our precious environment and the many forms of life in it. We learn that, as agents of change, each of us can plant small seeds that grow as The Bible teaches us.
