St Peter’s curriculum offer promotes our Christian values, meets the requirements of the National Curriculum 2014 and includes what we believe is important for our pupils’ all round development.
It comprises of the core subjects of English, mathematics and science as well as religious education and non-core foundation subjects – geography, history, computing, design technology, music, art, PSHE, physical education and languages. We also consolidate basic skills including grammar, mental arithmetic and speaking and listening throughout the week.
We actively promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. We firmly believe that the spiritual, moral, cultural and social development of our pupils is a vital part of their preparation for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life.
Primary specialist teaching in subjects such as English, mathematics, music, sport and languages is a key learning component at St Peter’s C.E Academy, where pupils are inspired and motivated by expert knowledge from teachers at the school and within the Nene Education Trust.
