Well done to all Year 6 for a positive attitude throughout this SATs week.  There will be no homework this week, as you have all earned a rest!

25th April 2018

Welcome back St David!

It was lovely to see all your smiling faces after a well-deserved Easter break, even though it was quite wet!!  The children have all returned with a positive attitude to learning and I know this will continue.  Our History topic of the Ancient Greeks has come to an end in its place our Geography topic is now Rivers and Coasts and for Art this term we will be looking at ‘Perspective’. Our topic of ‘The Highwayman’ in English resulted in children producing some wonderful pieces of writing on setting and this is now on display in our upper library area.   I look forward to the children producing some more beautiful work for display.

This term will be jam packed with wonderful things to look forward to; our whole school trip to Twycross zoo; various sporting events and not to mention our new non-fiction library in the reception area – watch this space! We have already experienced a full day’s visit from two top Olympic athletes, during which the children were tasked with designing a new sports energy drink in true Dragon’s Den style.

I look forward to a very successful term.

Mrs Ruddy.

Reading:

All children are expected to read regularly every week; each time they read, they will receive raffle tickets.  When they have read 5 times, they will receive raffle tickets and a merit, which will count towards their house.  Other prizes for reading will be given in class throughout the year.

Home/School Planner:

Could you please ensure that your child brings their home/school planner in to school every day. Please feel free to write any comments in it.

Every Friday your child will bring their planner home which will have been signed by their teacher. This should be countersigned by the parent/carer and returned to school again on Monday morning.
