Class Blog – March 2019
The children in St Francis have come back to school after the break ready for another fantastic half term! We have been busy exploring fractions and decimals in our Maths lessons and in English we are learning how to write explanation texts, with a particular focus on how the ‘Teacher Pleaser Machine’ works. In Geography, we are exploring how to accurately read maps and exploring the land masses of the words; in DT we are learning about Viking long ships and will be designing and creating our own version. In Science we are looking at Sound and how sounds are made. The children are working incredibly hard and I am sure that we will continue this throughout the term. Keep up the hard work!
All children are expected to read regularly every week to an adult; each time they read, they will receive raffle tickets. When they have read 5 times, they will receive raffle tickets and a merit, which will count towards their house. Other prizes for reading will be given in class throughout the year.
Could you please ensure that your child brings their home/school planner in to school every day. Please feel free to write any comments in it.
Every Friday your child will bring their planner home which will have been signed by their teacher. This should be countersigned by the parent/carer and returned to school again on Monday morning.
