Class Blog4th May 2018

We have had an exciting start to the term filled with brand new experiences. The new topic of South America started with a flourish with our WoW day which was filled with lots of different activities, including tasting lots of different South American food, learning Spanish, Carnival headdresses and listening to the variety of music that is made in all the different countries.

The children in Year 4 have also had the opportunity to go on their first residential trip to Grendon Hall, where every child pushed themselves and showed extraordinary team work. Back at school, children also had an amazing time with two days of teambuilding activities which they thoroughly enjoyed.

In Science we have started the topic of ‘Forces and Magnets’ which includes plenty of opportunity to explore, question and experiment.  In ICT we are creating our very own school prospectuses using PowerPoint. Our Design Technology topic this term is ‘Puppets’. We have explored lots of different variety of puppets and are working on creating our own puppets for a performance.

All children are expected to read regularly every week; each time they read, they will receive raffle tickets.  When they have read 5 times, they will receive raffle tickets and a merit, which will count towards their house.  Other prizes for reading will be given in class throughout the year.

Home/School Planner

Could you please ensure that your child brings their home/school planner in to school every day. Please feel free to write any comments in it.

Every Friday your child will bring their planner home which will have been signed by their teacher. This should be countersigned by the parent/carer and returned to school again on Monday morning.
