Class Blog – 3rd May 2018
This term is packed with new opportunities for St Andrew’s class. So far, we have had a South America day, which included learning Spanish, tasting new foods and making South American headdresses. Some of year 4 have been on a residential to Grendon Hall, while other took part in two days of team building games and challenges at school. We have been visited by four professional athletes, as children took part in a business enterprise day with a sports theme.
We are studying South America, and will be studying the layers of the rainforest, and what lives in it. In Science, we are studying magnets, and will have lots of opportunities to take part in practical lessons and experiments. In DT we are looking at different types of puppets, and will be making our own to perform a puppet show.
As the summer comes, there will be more sporting opportunities, as well as all of the after school clubs that many in St Andrew’s class are taking part in.
All children are expected to read regularly every week; each time they read, they will receive raffle tickets. When they have read 5 times, they will receive raffle tickets and a merit, which will count towards their house. Other prizes for reading will be given in class throughout the year.
Could you please ensure that your child brings their home/school planner in to school every day. Please feel free to write any comments in it.
Every Friday your child will bring their planner home which will have been signed by their teacher. This should be countersigned by the parent/carer and returned to school again on Monday morning.
