Class Blog – 3rd September 2018
Welcome to an exciting new year St Christopher!
This term is packed full of exciting new topics to cover! Our topic of ‘Settlers of the Nene Valley’ will span the fascinating history of the local Nene Valley, starting from the Stone Age all the way to medieval time. This topic includes lots of creative activities as well as rich historical and geographical learning.
Our science topic of ‘Rocks’ will encourage you to look at the world around you in an entirely different way. From vicious volcanoes to fascinating fossils, who knew there was so much to discover in our own back gardens!
In English we are excited to share the magical mysteries of ‘Leon and the Place Between’. This book is guaranteed to spark the imagination and get the creative juices flowing
All children are expected to read regularly every week to an adult; each time they read, they will receive raffle tickets. When they have read 5 times, they will receive raffle tickets and a merit, which will count towards their house. Other prizes for reading will be given in class throughout the year.
Could you please ensure that your child brings their home/school planner in to school every day. Please feel free to write any comments in it.
Every Friday your child will bring their planner home which will have been signed by their teacher. This should be countersigned by the parent/carer and returned to school again on Monday morning.
