Class Blog – 13th January 2018
Happy New Year!
St Christopher have started 2018 ready for more exciting topics and lessons! We will be exploring ‘The Iron Man’ by Ted Hughes in English lessons and the children are already very engaged with this book and are thoroughly enjoying making predictions and are eager to find out more! We have started our Tudors topic in history and we will be researching all aspects of Tudor life. We are looking at ‘relationships’ in art and will be using iPads to photograph ourselves with our friends and we will then replicate these photographs in our own portrait drawings. In Science, we are exploring changes in matter and we cannot wait to take part in lots of investigations and experiments!
We are all very excited for 2018 and what it will bring for St Christopher and hope that you all have a great time experiencing all of the exciting things we have planned!
All children are expected to read regularly every week; each time they read, they will receive raffle tickets. When they have read 5 times, they will receive raffle tickets and a merit, which will count towards their house. Other prizes for reading will be given in class throughout the year.
Could you please ensure that your child brings their home/school planner in to school every day. Please feel free to write any comments in it.
Every Friday your child will bring their planner home which will have been signed by their teacher. This should be countersigned by the parent/carer and returned to school again on Monday morning.
