St George’s had a beast of a time designing their creatures for World Book Day! We all came up with ideas for new creatures to join Max in the land of the wild things.

St George’s, in the coming term, will be continuing to explore ‘The Iron Man’ in English lessons and be working towards writing their own version of this classic novel. Our geography topic is mountains and volcanos which I know they will really enjoy. We will take a trip back in time to find out what happened in Pompeii!  In our design and technology lessons we will be making our very own purses and learning some important sewing skills. Our science topic is light and this will involve us planning a shadow puppet show once we have found out all about the how, what and why.

With World Book Day and National Science Week just around the corner there are lots of exciting lessons and experiences planned in for the children. We hope you have a fabulous term and enjoy the learning journey with us.

Miss Innes

All children are expected to read regularly every week; each time they read, they will receive raffle tickets.  When they have read 5 times, they will receive raffle tickets and a merit, which will count towards their house.  Other prizes for reading will be given in class throughout the year.

Home/School Planner

Could you please ensure that your child brings their home/school planner in to school every day. Please feel free to write any comments in it.

Every Friday your child will bring their planner home which will have been signed by their teacher. This should be countersigned by the parent/carer and returned to school again on Monday morning.
